in tiny droplets
frozen to dark rocks.
lead chained to your ankles
dragging you deeper still,
resistance
worn out
the heart tight
feet cold
you slip
sink
to the bottom
of the blackest oblivion.
gone
long
burdens steadily dissolving
gently bubbling,
until
the tiniest wisp
whirls up
to the light
