On the dim banks of Loch Lomond
where herons hunt the shallow tide
I lost my brave heart
reckless by the waterline
It got buried under cobbles and sand
for a year and a day
until the waves washed over
and carried my heart away
Now it lies hidden under the waters
sleeping at the bottom of the deep
'til I return to bonnie Loch Lomond
and my heart floats back to me.
